Description
The book is organized into five chapters that trace the evolution of social sciences and anthropology: from their origins to the 18th century (Ch. I), the consolidation of disciplines in the 19th century such as political economy, sociology, anthropology, and Marxism (Ch. II), the positivist, neo-positivist, and Marxist currents of the first half of the 20th century (Ch. III), and the development of contemporary approaches such as postmodernism, globalization, and complex anthropology in the second half of the 20th century and early 21st century (Ch. IV). Finally, the fifth chapter focuses on the history and development of anthropology in Peru, including Andean anthropology and the contributions of José María Arguedas as a writer and anthropologist.
