Description

This work explores the socialization processes in the Quechua communities of Ayacucho and Huancavelica, describing how individuals internalize and transform their culture in paramodern contexts where tradition and modernity coexist. Through rich ethnography, the author Néstor Godofredo Taipe Campos analyzes the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, values, and practices related to work, agricultural production, astronomical and meteorological knowledge, gender relations, and principles of community solidarity. The study reveals how these contemporary Andean societies constitute "hybrid cultures" that integrate traditional elements with external influences and new technologies. With a prologue by Abilio Vergara Figueroa, this book is a valuable cultural map of the current Andean world.

Author: Néstor G. TAIPE CAMPOS
