The study addresses the participation of university communities in the independence process, the contribution of guerrilla groups and their leaders such as Marcelino Carreño in the final campaign and the patriot triumph, and the religious component in independence, such as the presence of virgins and children in the Battle of Ayacucho. These are aspects that have been overlooked or minimized in recent publications regarding the Bicentennial of Peruvian Independence (2021). It was advisable to conduct interdisciplinary research that reveals, among other things, the potential of historical anthropology or cultural history.
