This book analyzes the agrarian and political process of the district of Colcabamba in Tayacaja, Huancavelica, during a period of profound transformations that included agrarian reform, the disappearance of the hacienda system, and the consolidation of the communal system. The author Néstor Godofredo Taipe Campos examines the internal factors, external influences, and subjective elements that led to the emergence of peasant movements, from defensive protests to political struggles for control of the district's political-administrative apparatus. Based on ethnographic work and documentary sources, the study reveals how peasants from haciendas and communities broke the traditional dominance of local power, achieving structural changes in both the agrarian and political order, in a context where communal identity and new solidarities played a fundamental role.
