Description
The book brings together various studies that explore historical, cultural, and symbolic aspects of the Andes, such as the dual territorial organization of Colcabamba, the historical process of Tayacaja, the iconic roles of Santiago Apóstol, ethnic identities in Kichwa narratives, Andean eschatology, moral values in tales of the condemned soul, the figures of animals and “gentiles” in traditional narratives, and the pedagogical function of oral tradition. Taken together, it offers a broad and deep look at the cultural expressions of the south-central Andes.
