This book characterizes the risk of gender violence in romantic relationships among first-year students at the National University of San Cristóbal de Huamanga during 2017. An applied research study is presented with 322 female students from series 100, using validated instruments such as the toximeter-test, family APGAR, and self-esteem test to detect early signs of violence. The results reveal that 27.6% of the students showed a risk of violence in their romantic relationships, identifying adolescent age, low self-esteem, and family dysfunction as vulnerability factors. The study concludes that universities must play a leading role in prevention through early detection and the promotion of knowledge about healthy relationships, in response to the National Plan Against Gender Violence 2016-2021.
